Tri-Kids (short for triathlete kids) is our program to nurture and encourage young triathletes. We train kids as young as 5 to begin their fitness journey by training and competing in three different sports at the same time. Triathlons are special because each component requires different skills, techniques and mindset, offering a chance to excel and challenge yourself in new ways. 

Triathlon training also improves fitness and especially endurance, building the foundation for a healthy and active life. If you want your kids to get off the couch and off their devices, you can’t get better than a triple dose of running, swimming and biking! Learning three different sports together keeps them engaged and motivated, so they can burn off excess energy while learning important sporting and movement skills.

Our Tri-Kids program is both fun and educational, inculcating the values of teamwork, discipline and personal resilience that will serve your kids for a lifetime. Kids train in a team and engage with their peers to form supportive friendships. They also learn to be independent from parents, gaining confidence that they can race and compete on their own. Tri-Kids is taught in age-appropriate ways, with regular mini-races and camps to cultivate good fitness habits and encourage progress, no matter where your kids are at. 

Swim

  • Breathe properly while swimming
  • Sight and swim straight in open water
  • Use a buoy and turn around a buoy
  • Manage cramps and fatigue while swimming

Bike

  • How to push-off, glide, brake and corner

  • Pushing the bike

  • Use and timing of gears for speed and leverage

  • S-course

  • Familiarizing yourself with the anatomy of your bike

Run

  • Optimize posture and breathing while running

  • Techniques for leaning, arm swing and leg lift

General

  • Efficient transitions from swim to bike, and bike to run
  • Warm-up and cool-down exercises

Gear Required:

  • Swim attire, goggles, buoy and fins
  • Bicycle, helmet and gloves
  • Running shoes and socks

Who

  • Kids who are comfortable in the water (not scared)
  • Able to swim a minimum of 20m kicking and breathing with a flotation aid

  • 5-12, 13-16 years old

  • No prerequisites

  • Can ride a two-wheel bicycle for at least 500m

  • Able to brake and stop the bike safely on their own

When & Where

  • Weekly Regular Sessions
  • Sunday 9-11.30AM, Tanjong Beach, Sentosa
  • This session covers swimming, cycling and running.
  • Thursday 5-6.30PM, Warren Golf & Country Club, Choa Chu Kang
  • This session includes swimming and running (no cycling).
  • We also offer top-up swim training sessions by request.

Holiday Camps

  • During school holidays (June and December)
  • 3 consecutive days of morning training, including a final race at the end of the camp

Fees

  • $180/month for 1xweek sessions
  • $280/month for 2xweek sessions
  • Sign-up is for one term (4 months) of sessions: $720 or $1,120
  • 1 month refundable deposit upon sign-up + one-off registration fee of $35
  • Interest-free installments available via Atome
